What makes a strong random password?

A strong password is long and unpredictable. This generator selects characters from your chosen pool with secure randomness, making the result harder to guess than names, dates, common words or repeated patterns. Use a unique password for every account and store it in a trusted password manager.

How to use this password generator

  1. Copy immediately:A 20-character password is generated by default. Select “Copy password” to use it.
  2. Adjust the rules:Changing the length or character types generates a new password immediately. Keep at least one character type enabled.
  3. Create in bulk:Open “Bulk generator” to create, copy or download 1 to 100 unique passwords.

How does this tool protect your privacy?

Generation runs entirely in your browser and uses crypto.getRandomValues() for cryptographically secure randomness. It never uses Math.random() for passwords and never writes generated values to cookies, local storage, session storage or server logs. Generated passwords, clipboard contents and custom characters are not recorded.

Which length and character types should you choose?

If a site has no special limit, use a random password of at least 20 characters. Uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers and symbols enlarge the character pool and help meet site rules, while length and randomness remain the main priorities. Exclude unsupported symbols in Advanced settings when necessary.

Frequently asked questions

Is this online password generator safe?

Yes. It uses crypto.getRandomValues() from the Web Crypto API on your device. Passwords are never uploaded, stored or sent to a server and disappear when the page is refreshed.

How long should a random password be?

Use at least 15 characters in general. This tool defaults to 20 characters, which is a practical choice for accounts supported by a password manager.

Why include uppercase, lowercase, numbers and symbols?

A larger character pool increases the number of possible passwords and helps meet some website rules. Enable only the types accepted by the target site.

What does password entropy mean?

Entropy describes the theoretical size of the possible password space for the current length and character pool. It does not predict the actual time needed to compromise an account.

Are generated passwords saved?

No. Passwords are not written to cookies, local storage, session storage or a server database. They exist only in page memory and disappear after refresh.
