Important Notes

1
System shortcuts cannot be fully blocked

Alt+Tab, Win key, Cmd+Q and similar OS-level shortcuts may still work — this is a browser limitation.

2
Three ways to exit

Click the exit button (top-right) / Long-press ESC for 3 seconds / Wait for the countdown to end.

3
Best with fullscreen

Fullscreen mode provides the best interception. Some browsers require user permission.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does wiping my keyboard trigger shortcuts?

When cleaning, your fingers or cloth press multiple keys simultaneously. The OS interprets these as keyboard shortcuts (e.g. Ctrl+W closes a tab, Space scrolls the page). This tool intercepts those events at the browser level before they take effect.

Can this tool completely disable the Win/Cmd key?

No. System-level keys like Win, Cmd, and Alt+Tab are handled by the operating system before the browser sees them. This tool blocks everything the browser can control, which covers the vast majority of accidental keypresses during cleaning.

Why can't ESC exit sometimes?

When Keyboard Lock API is active, ESC is captured by the page. Use the long-press ESC (3 seconds) method, click the exit button, or wait for the countdown to end.

Does it work on phones and tablets?

Yes. Touch events (swipe, tap, multi-touch) are intercepted. However, iOS Safari has limited fullscreen and Keyboard Lock support.

Do I need to install anything?

No. Everything runs in your browser using standard Web APIs. No extensions, no downloads, no registration.

What cleaning method do you recommend?

Use a slightly damp microfiber cloth. Avoid excess liquid near ports. For between keys, use compressed air or a soft brush. Power off the device if doing a deep clean.
